These are photos of my (first) ballooning tour that I did near Blyde River Canyon. It is a pretty expensive past time, but from the photography point of view it is interesting. I wouldn't consider it a must from now on for every holiday, but if I have an opportunity in an interesting area I would consider it again, provided the price is OK.

What I found most fascinating was the control that the pilot has. Granted, we had very good conditions with mild winds, but sometimes we would dip between trees planted to give the plantations in the area some wind protection just to climb again to pass them with less than half a meter to spare.

The tour that I took was organized by the people of Otter's Den, they seemed to be very experienced.
